A True Approach To Horoscope Analysis
Horoscope analysis needs a systematic approach and acumenship on the part of a professional astrologer. The approach should be, to begin with, correct casting of natal horoscope (D-1) with accurate degrees of Lagna and nine planets; their correct Nakshatra-Padas; balance of Vimshottari Dasha at birth (Maha Dasha – Antar Dasha – Pratyantar Dasha) etc. which prima-facie reveal a lot of information about the destiny pattern and fate of an individual.
[crp]The next step should be casting of Navamsha Horoscope(D-9);Drekkana Horoscope (D-3); Hora Chart (D-2) for wealth, financial prosperity and economic rise in life; Dwadamsha (D-12); Shastiamsha (D-60) and finally the Divisional Chart concerned relating to the query (for example D-10 if query relates to professional matter;D-16 for car/bikes/motorcycles/SUV/MUV or personal conveyance of any type; D-4 for house/property/flats/ multi-storied buildings, chances of visiting abroad or foreign countries; D-24 for education or higher educational or professional academicpurpose and so on).
I have opted the above list of examination of Divisional Charts mandatory as part of my comprehensive horoscope analysis to best fit to the need of the hours. This is a bit shift from traditional examination of Varga Charts like Shadvarga, Saptvarga, Dasvarga and Shodashvarga as prescribed in Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS). The Divisional Charts should be read independently and jointly along with main Natal Chart. There may be questions in the mind of the readers about the correctness of Shastiamsha (D-60) chart as a half-degree difference in Lagna of Birth Chart would result in shifting of the Lagna of D-60 chart to another Rashi / Zodiac sign. In order to meet with such eventuality, it is advisable to recast the D-60 Chart by retaining the Lagna of D-60 in the same sign as that of Natal Chart (D-1) and plotting the nine planets in signs occupied by them in D-60. The examination of the position and status of planets especially the Dasha Planets in D-60 is essential as the great astrological sage Parashara has given a weightage of 5 for Shastiamsha (D-60) as against 3 for Rashi Chart (D-1) and 1.5 for Navamsha Chart (D-9) in Dasvargascheme in a scale of 20. Similarly, the great Sage Parashara has attached highest weightage to Shastiamsha (D-60) in Shodashvarga analysis.
A horoscope analysis should be done in two stages – firstly by examining the latent or static promises either good or bad in a horoscope followed by examination of dynamic promises to be unfolded through Dasha sequences (planetary periods) and planetary transit. A person is lucky who gets favourable Dasha sequences at appropriate and proper time of his life cycle. The latent or static planetary promises in a horoscope mostly remain either dormant or protective in nature until and unless the same is activated and given shape by the sequential Dasha scheme in one’s life cycle.
Examination of strength of the planets and twelve houses of a horoscope is also of paramount importance. A planet is strong when it is exalted; in its own sign especially the Mooltrikona sign; dikbali (having directional strength); in friendly sign;when posited in Kendra (1/4/7/10 signs with reference to Ascendant); Trikone (1/5/9 signs with reference to Lagna); or at least in 2nd or 11thsigns or houses of a horoscope with reference to Lagna; posited in a sign fortified with at least 28 Ashtakavarga Points besides strong in Shadbala. A house or a sign of a horoscope is strong when it is related with natural benefics like Jupiter, Venus, Mercury (preferably not retrograde) or waxing Moon. A house or a sign of a horoscope is also strong if it is related to its sign lord. The relationship could be either aspectual or occupational. A house is also strong when it is occupied or aspected by many planets and having at least 28 Ashtakavarga points. For example, say for Tula Lagna (Libra Ascendant), 9th house or sign is Gemini (Mithuna Rashi) ruled by Mercury. If Mercury is strong and the house is occupied or aspected by natural benefics like Venus (Lagna Lord in this case), waxing Moon (10th Lord in case of Tula Lagna) etc. the person is construed to be a lucky and fortunate chap for interaction of two natural benefics as well as functional benefics in the 9th house of his luck and fate. He is expected to be getting support of his luck throughout of his life in the form of a sober and supportive boss / superior in professional life; a good and dignified father in personal life; and support of female partnersetc. since both Venus and Moon are female planets and overall a win-win situation and smooth sailing throughout his life cycle.
Let us now take a case study of Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, a long time Prime Minister of India, mainly focusing on her luck factor which is ruled by 9th house in a horoscope. Mrs. Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 at 11:11 P.M. (Indian Standard Time) at Allahabad (India).
(Note: – The above horoscope has been copied from online source http://planetspower.blogspot.in/2011/09/indira-gandhis-horoscope-vedic.html)
Mrs. Gandhi was daughter of Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India. As per above birth details, her Lagna (rising Ascendant) of the Natal Horoscope (D-1) is Cancer and 9th house sign is Pisces lorded by Jupiter. The 9th lord Jupiter is Vargottama and placed in 11th house of gain. A planet is Vargottama when it occupies same zodiac sign/ Rashi both in Natal Horoscope and Navamsha Horoscope and is said to be powerful and capable of giving full result in respect of the significations governed by him in a Horoscope. Moreover, her Jupiter being in 2nd Pada of Rohini Nakshatra is in Pushkar Navamsha. When a planet is in Pushkar Navamsha it acquires special power to bestow beneficence. Her 9th lord Jupiter is aspected by natural benefic Mercury and 2nd lord Sun infusing their benefic nature and power to her, respectively. Her 9th house of Natal Horoscope counting from Lagna falls in zodiac sign Pisces, which is a benefic zodiac sign as per Hindu Astrology, and aspected by Vargottama Mars who is a Yoga Karaka in her horoscope. A Yoga Karaka is a most benefic planet in respect of some Lagnas (rising Ascendants) when he gets the lordship of a Kendra (Quadrant) and simultaneously a Trikone (Trine) house. In case of late Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Mars is lord of 5th house sign (a Trine) and 10th house sign (a Quadrant). As such, Mars, though a natural malefic, but because of its Yoga Karaka and Vargottama status delivered all its best towards the growth of luck factors of Mrs. Indira Gandhi. We all know how lucky she was who ruled India for successive periods with authority and agility and achieved sky-horizon success. She became the first time Minister in 1964 holding independent charge of Information & Broadcasting during the Main Period of Jupiter (her 9th lord). She also became the Prime Minister of India for the first time in 1966 during the Vimshottari Mahadasha (Main Period) of Jupiter (her Vargottama 9th lord of luck, fate and fortune). See how the latent Natal Horoscopic promises of Jupiter got activated during its Main Period.
These are only few steps which are the barest minimum that required to be remembered and followed by every astrologer while analyzing a horoscope in a Vedic way. A systematic approach in horoscope analysis leads to correct and pin-pointed prediction by an astrologer.
