What are the various states of planets?

Please explain the diff. among various states of any planet… exalted/debl./mooltrikone/in own sign etc… i know it is very basic ques. but i m so confused…

Dear Vishwas Ji,
Those states show the strength of planet. E.g. Exalted planet is more stronger than planet placed in own sign.
If we write those states in decreasing order of planet’s strength then it would be like:
1) Exalted Sign
2) Mooltrikona Sign
3) Own Sign
4) Friendly Sign
5) Neutral Sign
6) Enemical Sign
7) Debilitated Sign

Planets gain strength as per their position in various signs.
